Land Transport Authority (LTA)

Established on 1 September 1995, the Land Transport Authority (LTA) is a statutory board under Singapore's Ministry of Transport. LTA is responsible for planning, building, maintaining, and regulating Singapore's integrated land transport network to provide a safe, reliable, efficient, and sustainable transportation system.

The authority oversees the development and operation of Singapore's Mass Rapid Transit (MRT) network, Light Rail Transit (LRT), public bus services, roads, expressways, cycling infrastructure, and pedestrian facilities. LTA also manages vehicle registration, road pricing, traffic management, licensing, active mobility regulations, intelligent transport systems, autonomous vehicle trials, and transport-related digital services.
