Overview

Pathlights is a nonprofit organization dedicated to supporting adults aged 60 and older, adults with disabilities, caregivers, and families by providing programs and services that promote independence, dignity, and healthy aging. Established in 1975 as the P.L.O.W.S. Council on Aging, the organization rebranded to Pathlights while continuing its mission of helping individuals navigate every stage of the aging journey.

The organization offers a comprehensive range of community-based services, including home-delivered meals, caregiver support, in-home assistance, benefits counseling, transportation resources, elder abuse prevention, care coordination, respite care, health education, housing assistance, and wellness programs. Pathlights also provides advocacy, referrals, and educational resources to help older adults remain safe, healthy, and independent in their homes and communities.

Serving the south and southwest suburbs of Cook County, Illinois, Pathlights collaborates with government agencies, healthcare providers, community organizations, and volunteers to improve the quality of life for thousands of individuals each year through compassionate, client-centered services and community engagement.
