Payroll & Compliance Specialist

About the Role

We're looking for an experienced Payroll & Compliance Specialist to join our team in Mumbai. In this role, you'll be responsible for ensuring payroll processes run smoothly and accurately while maintaining compliance with statutory requirements and labour regulations.

What You'll Be Doing

• Manage end-to-end payroll processing, ensuring accuracy and timely salary disbursement.

• Oversee statutory compliance activities, ensuring adherence to applicable labour laws and regulations.

• Handle compliance requirements related to Provident Fund (PF), Employees' State Insurance Corporation (ESIC), Professional Tax (PT), Labour Welfare Fund (LWF), gratuity, and other statutory obligations.

• Coordinate with internal teams and external vendors to support payroll-related activities and resolve queries efficiently.

• Prepare compliance reports and maintain accurate, audit-ready records and documentation.

• Monitor updates in payroll legislation and labour regulations, ensuring processes remain compliant and up to date.

What We're Looking For

• 5+ years of hands-on experience in payroll operations and statutory compliance.

• Strong knowledge of Indian payroll processes and labour law requirements.

• Practical experience managing PF, ESIC, PT, LWF, gratuity, and related statutory activities.

• Excellent attention to detail with strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.

• Ability to manage multiple priorities while consistently meeting deadlines.

• Effective communication and stakeholder management skills.

Nice to Have

• Experience collaborating with third-party payroll vendors.

• Exposure to payroll audits and compliance reviews.

• Familiarity with payroll reporting and process improvement initiatives.

• Experience working in large or fast-paced organizations.
