Position Overview

We are seeking a knowledgeable and detail-oriented Payroll Specialist based in India to manage US payroll and related functions across multiple clients and platforms. This role requires a strong understanding of US payroll processes, compliance, and employee benefits, along with the ability to work independently in a fast-paced, multi-client environment.


Key Responsibilities

  • Process US payrolls (weekly, biweekly, monthly) for multiple clients across various payroll platforms
  • Review payroll data for accuracy, including earnings, deductions, and federal/state tax withholdings
  • Maintain employee records and manage payroll-related updates and adjustments
  • Monitor payroll tax liabilities and support timely US payroll tax filings and payments
  • Apply for payroll tax accounts (EIN, state registrations) for new clients/entities
  • Manage 401(k) contributions and ensure timely remittance
  • Prepare and manage workers’ compensation reporting
  • Administer employee benefits, including enrollments and changes
  • Lead employee onboarding processes end-to-end for US employees
  • Support annual audits and benefit reconciliation processes
  • Respond to client and employee payroll-related inquiries with a high level of professionalism


Qualifications

  • 5+ years of progressive experience in US payroll management and administration
  • Experience working with multiple clients or entities (CA firms, BPOs, or payroll service providers preferred)
  • Strong working knowledge of US payroll tax regulations, compliance, and benefit deductions
  • Hands-on experience with payroll systems such as Paychex, Intuit, or similar
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to meet multiple deadlines
  • Excellent communication skills (written and verbal) with US stakeholders
  • Ability to work in overlapping US time zones when required
